Traditional Music Program
Two musicians provide education in music and dance as an extracurricular activity after classes. The valimba is a traditional instrument made from strips of rough hewn wood arranged over hollowed gourds. Players strike keys with mallets, playing delightful and complex melodies.

Sewing Program
In 2002 we established a sewing program at Kapasseni school, hiring a tailor and using two sewing machines paid for by the Global Village store in Victoria. This adds a practical aspect to the education. Mozambican cotton is used to produce the uniforms, which the students wear with pride. The uniform reflects the colours of the Mozambique flag - green for agriculture and yellow for corn. Lighter coloured green shirts are now being made as well.
